Fonts are an important element of graphical design.  Bad font choice can ruin an otherwise good piece.

General Sites and Tools

  • What The Font? is a font identification tool.  Take a screen shot (they provide recommendations for best results — letters not touching, high contrast colors, about 100 pixels high, distinctive letter forms) and they’ll try to match it automatically.  If that doesn’t work you can put it up on the forum and maybe another font freak will come along to help out.
  • Pixel Sagas has links to many fonts, broken out by how they have been applied and with samples.
