Welcome to my 2025 A-Z Blog Challenge!
This year, my theme is ‘Small Gods’.
Gods are often depicted as immortal, immensely powerful beings. They often epitomize elements and aspects of mortality, while not themselves being mortal. Even if not omnipotent — how can they be, when they can defeat each other? — they are typically omnipresent. They can exercise and extend their power anywhere.
Small gods pale in comparison. Their power reaches nowhere near as far, nor as broadly, nor as deeply. They’re not even particularly powerful compared to PC heroes.
Compared to normal people, though? Normal people can be overwhelmed: small gods have power that greatly exceeds the power of normal people.
And they can share that power.
The list below has a deity for each day of the A-Z challenge. I generated curated list of names and epithets… and that’s about all I know about them right now. The names and epithets give me some hints, though.
