Another project — my 2021 NaGaDeMon attempt, ‘Paths Not Taken’ — I want to get back to.
There are many things I like about Pathfinder 2e. One of the big things I loved about Pathfinder 1e, though, is how close it was to D&D 3.x — at one time, my favorite D&D. I want to explore what can be done to keep more of the D&D 3.x nature, while cleaning up after more than a decade of Pathfinder 1e growth.
Blog posts are great for capturing current thoughts. Unless you’re keeping up the conversation and tracking the changes in thought over time, they’re not always good for understanding. To help manage this, I’ll keep the current snapshot in a fixed location.
In Paths Not Taken, I don’t expect to make sweeping changes to the rules. I do expect to reorganize things somewhat, and to write more simply. I also expect some changes to suit my taste. For example, I can see changing how ‘favored enemy’ works.
