It is A-Z Blog Challenge time again!
This year I’m going back to an older topics, part of my Year of the Lost: Small Gods.
Small gods are semi-divine entities that can be focus of faith at local levels.
In most roleplaying games, it seems deities are omnipresent, if not omniscient and omnipotent. It would suck to play an adventuring cleric who can’t do their thing because they’re too far from home.
For those who don’t travel much, though, a small god with small powers that reach a small way… can be enough.
Local deities, sounds interesting. The term Small Gods brought to mind Terry Pratchett of course.
Thanks Lisa. I actually hadn’t made the connection to Discworld’s Small Gods… and now I want to see if I can.
Though I admit, with the current rhetoric from the south, Vorbis (the exquisitor) looking for casus belli feels a little close to home right now.
